The Tennessee Titans of the National Football League have become the first team in the league to accept Bitcoin (BTC) payments.

Bitcoin and American sports have a developing association, with several major players accepting Bitcoin as payment.

In 2014, the NBA's Sacramento Kings became the first to accept Bitcoin payments.

Leading people in the sport of American football have links to digital assets, and the National Football League (NFL) and digital assets have a developing relationship.

More institutions are investigating the usage of cryptocurrency as Bitcoin (BTC) use grows, with American sports proving to be a big supporter of digital assets.

It was just a matter of time until NFL clubs began taking cryptocurrency payments, cementing their links with the cryptocurrency community.

Tennessee Titans Become First NFL Team to Accept Bitcoin (BTC)

The Tennessee Titans became the first NFL club to accept Bitcoin payments overnight, according to reports.

For substantial and recurrent purchases, the team will apparently accept Bitcoin payments. Season tickets and boxes, for example, might be paid with Bitcoin. The team hopes to allow Bitcoin payments for merchandising, single tickets, and in-stadium food and beverage in the future.

"At the Tennessee Titans, we're constantly seeking to be a tech-forward, innovation-first, and data-driven corporation," said Gil Beverley, Senior Vice President/Chief Marketing and Revenue Office.

Accepting Bitcoin is part of a larger objective to put our fans first and stay ahead of the curve in terms of their wants and market expectations."

To make it a reality, the team spoke with Bitcoin Magazine and UTXO Management, according to the media.

The Titans are a professional American football team headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. The Houston Oilers, formerly known as the Houston Oilers, entered the NFL in 1970 and advanced to Super Bowl XXXIV, where they were defeated by the St Louis Rams.
