On February 22, the U.S. Department of Justice announced an investigation into Netflixs (NFLX.O) proposed $72 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD.O), examining the streaming giants market conduct and whether it exerted anti-competitive influence on creators during negotiations to acquire programming rights. The Justice Department is seeking to determine whether the deal "could materially reduce competition or be designed to create a monopoly, thereby violating Section 7 of the Clayton Act or Section 2 of the Sherman Act." According to sources familiar with the matter, the request has been sent to an independent film studio. This is the first clear indication that the Trump administration is no longer simply following standard procedures in its investigation of the acquisition, but rather employing a more in-depth investigative approach. This contradicts Netflixs claims in recent weeks that the government has not engaged in any procedures outside of normal procedures.February 22 – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that he plans to hold talks with European partners next week to ensure Europe plays a role in the negotiations on the Ukraine crisis and to continuously strengthen its influence. Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) will release an Iron Man game along with at least two other action-adventure titles based on Marvel characters, according to a deal announced by the company on Monday.

The Iron Man video game will have an original plot inspired on the life of Tony Stark, the fictional billionaire portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. in the popular superhero film series.

EA said that the new games will be available on both consoles and PC as part of a deal that gives them access to one of the most profitable entertainment organizations, mostly due to the success of films based on Marvel comic book characters.

EA has previously partnered with Walt Disney (NYSE:DIS), the owner of Marvel, to develop mobile, PC, and console games based on the Star Wars film franchise.

EA, located in Redwood City, California (NYSE:RWT), joins a host of other gaming titans that have licensed popular superheroes for their games. Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI) has produced Spider-Man games, whilst Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has developed Batman games.

EA's bet on its new titles comes as the video game maker confronts a decrease in demand since the height of the pandemic. Earlier in August, the company anticipated quarterly adjusted sales to fall short of expectations.

On November 1, quarterly results are anticipated to be released.
